 How much time do you need? Can you explore on foot? Where should you begin? Here are straightforward answers for planning a first visit to Roswell. 

START DOWNTOWN

 Many of Roswell’s best-known alien attractions are concentrated along North Main Street. 

ALLOW ENOUGH TIME

 A half-day works for the central alien attractions. Allow a full day if you want to explore beyond Main Street. 

VERIFY BEFORE VISITING

 Hours, prices, weather, and special events can change. Confirm same-day details before heading out.

 A first visit can be as short as a few hours or fill an entire day. These are suggested planning times—not a fixed schedule.

 Add a meal and one or two destinations confirmed open, such as the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, then leave time for unexpected stops. 

GETTING AROUND NORTH MAIN STREET

 The central alien attractions follow a simple route north along Main Street. Walk the closest stops or move your vehicle as the distance, weather, and your comfort require. 

WALK THE FIRST THREE

 The UFO Museum, BrickTown, and Alien Zone are within a few blocks of one another in the downtown area. 

DRIVE WHEN NEEDED

 Invasion Station and UFO McDonald’s are farther north. Driving may be more comfortable in hot weather or for visitors with limited mobility. 

TRANSIT IS AVAILABLE

  Roswell Transit operates a Main Street route seven days a week. Check the current route schedule and stops before relying on it. 

BEFORE YOU HEAD OUT

 A few minutes of preparation can prevent a closed door, an uncomfortable walk, or an unnecessary change of plans. 

CHECK CURRENT CONDITIONS

 Some Roswell public attractions are still recovering from the October 2024 flooding. Confirm that each destination is open before making it part of your day. 

EXPECT SUN AND HEAT

 Bring water, sun protection, and comfortable shoes. Consider driving between stops when the weather makes walking uncomfortable.

USE THE VISITOR CENTER

 The Roswell Visitor Center at 426 N. Main Street provides official local information, guides, and help with current conditions.
